Week 10th, 12th December

Hello dear families,
Last week, apart from having a look at the classroom language learnt during the previous week, we learnt much vocabulary about Christmas. The students are drawing a "Christmas Landsacape" with many things in it: a Christmas Tree, a beautiful reindeer, a sleigh, presents, stars, etc. They all did it very well. We will use these pictures to decorate the class. We also sang two Chirstmas Carols: "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bells". They can sing them at home with your help.
Have a nice weekend!!!

Week 3rd, 5th December

Hello everybody!!
This week the students have presented their projects, in which they had to introduce the members of their families to the rest. They did it very well, but some of them didn't bring it done yet, so they will have to do it next week.
We have worked the family vocabulary, doing different worksheets and we have sung a beautiful song: "The Finger Family". If you want to practise it at home, here you are the video:

We have also played "Simon says" and the children were able to follow differents instructions in class. Next week we are going to learn much more about classroom language: instructions, questions, answers, etc.

Week 26th, 28th November

Hello parents and children.
This week we have practised the question "Can I borrow your ...., please? and the answer "Here you are". In this way they could also practise the vocabulary of school things. I think they are already acquainted with this question (and some others) in class, and little by little, they will learn much more sentences that are very useful and practical not only in the classroom language, but also in the everyday language.
Later, we introduced new vocabulary about the family members watching a power point.
As homework, the children have to do a project to introduce their relatives to the other students. They will have to do it orally in class.

Week 5th, 7th November

Apart from reviewing the previous vocabulary, we have learnt new greetings and farewells:
- Nice to meet you
- How are you? I'm fine, thank you. And you?
- Bye, bye. Good bye. See you.
We have distinguished Farm animals and Zoo animals (Girls usually prefer farm animals and boys tend to show more interest towards zoo animals!!!!).

As homework, I would like them to watch this video. We will practise this song next week.
See you on Tuesday!!!!

Week 29th, 31st October

This week we studied the numbers up to 30. We also studied and enhanced the vocabulary of animals. We practised the question "What is your favourite animal / colour? They had to answer using whole sentences "My favourite animal / colour is..." They also practised short answers "Yes, I do / No I don't" to the question "Do you like dogs, cats.....?"
Of course, we were speaking about Halloween and the children learnt vocabulary about this too: "witch, vampire, pumpkin, etc.

All the children showed interest and were very participatory.
